Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Hello Everyone,
Just checking in to see how everyone's holidays are going. I had a great time this year. No one got sick. Hurray! Got to see family and friends; which is always good. I got a few gift certificates to go shopping at Giant Tiger.
At the Library, we were closed over the Christmas, so our Elf on the Shelf is over ...until next year. I have started to get our New Year's Resolution Display together. Do you have any that you would like to share? I will be walking on the walking track here at the Lincoln Centre. I want to get in shape this 2016. As always my other resolution is to be more organized.
Programs will be starting up again in the New Year. If you have any programs that you would like to see happen at the library, post a comment or email me daley@lincoln.library.on.ca or call 905-563-7014.
We are always taking volunteers; if you need any community hours please contact me, Margaret.
Check out our Teen Area we have new books all the time.
I would like to Wish Everyone a Happy New Year!

The Holidays are almost here...
Hi Everyone,
Just checking in. It has been awhile since I posted a post. I am behind for the holidays as usual. At the library we are decorated and the Elf on the Shelf is under way. I have noticed that the Elf is appealing to all ages. I love finding the little fellow everyday at the Fleming Branch. Our Elf is called Ollie. New to the Lincoln Public Library is Ella. She hangs out at the Moses F. Rittenhouse Branch
If you are interested in what I am blogging about, check out the Library Events Blog http://lincolnpubliclibrary.blogspot.ca/ and see what the elves are up to on a daily biases.
So what are your plans for the holidays. I plan on getting my place organized neat and clean. Library wise, Teen programs are on hold until the New Year. But, you do have a chance to win a stocking stuffer at the Fleming Library. So come on in and fill out a ticket located in the teen area.

Summer is here!
Please comment on what you are doing this summer!
So far I have been to New Brunswick. We vacationed on Miscou Island for one week. It is so beautiful out East. I saw the Miscou Lighthouse and had tried a crab sandwich for the first time. The ocean was so cold so needless to say I did not go swimming. We also walked along the board walk. I can't wait to go back.
I did not get a chance to read as much as I hoped to on my vacation. But if you are interested here are some of my summer vacation reading suggestions:
City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, Book 1)
By Cassandra Clare
Now a movie, this book is the classic good against evil or angles vs demons. We follow Clary Fray in her adventure of finding herself and discovering her true relationship with her mother. She meets unworldly creatures that make her realized that things are not always what they seem.
Tithe
By Holly Black
Finding
out that you are not human is the dilemma that sixteen year old Kaye
Fierch has entailed. A gritty high school student drop out
discovered that she is a pixie. In the novel, she finds friendship and
love in an adventure of a lifetime in the Fairy world of good and evil.
Peter
and the Starcatchers
By Dave Barry
Find out how Peter Pan became “Peter Pan” in this fun and adventurous prequel.
The Summoning
By Kelley Armstrong
Chloe Saunders a normal teenager whose only concern is boys and her friends. Then one day it turns horribly wrong. She sees a horrifying ghost for the first time; which leads to her being committed to a home for troubled teens, “The Lyle House”. The other teens in the house all seem to be mentally unstable , but are they really or do they have physic powers just like her.
I have a big pile of my books beside my bed ready to read this summer. Please comment on what books that you would recommend to everyone to read this summer!

New for the Month of May... Mandalas!
What is a
Mandala?
The word "mandala" is from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit.
Loosely translated to mean "circle," a mandala is far more than a simple shape.
It represents wholeness, and can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of life itself--a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds.
A mandala is...
An integrated structure
organized around a
unifying center
