Where did the weekend go? Anime Club already?

I started the book, City of Bones. I will let you know what I liked better the book or the movie. So far, I am liking the book...

Yesterday we had our first Anime Club of the month. We talked about the history of Manga and Anime. Since we mainly had guys sign up for the program we did talk about the weapons; mainly swords that are used in the novels. Then we compared them to the weapons that the Samurai have used in the past. Needless to say, we ran out of time. If you are interested in find out more information about Samurai, check out the Worldbook Encyclopedia  online  www.worldbookonline.com Call the library for the log in and password at  905-563-7014 or email info@lincoln.library.on.ca  Just think the encyclopedia  is available 24/7  and you know you will get the right information.

Back to Anime..

We touched on the different styles of Anime and Manga which we will look at further during next week's topic, Let's draw. I promised the guys that we will make the shuriken paper throwing stars. I have found some how to clips on YouTube and a few instruction on Google on how to create a paper throwing star. It looks complicated. I will let you know how the stars turn out.

If you are interested in Manga Novels we have them at the Fleming Library.
  • Bleach
  • Fruits Basket
  • Naruto
*these are just a few- unfortunately over the years a few of the series have gone missing so if we don't have them all we can get them for you from another library.

If you are interested in joining the club please register and there is a fee of $5 to cover the cost of materials. The club runs Mondays April 14th & 28th at 3:30pm.

Happy Tuesday!
